FAQ

I don’t play an instrument, can I still create harmony?
Yes. You can either input the key of your song with the footswitches or you can use your favorite music tracks to control harmony by connecting your mp3 player to the aux input.

How do I chain presets as I did with Song mode in the original VoiceLive?
Each preset can be programmed to have its own chain of steps. The Step button is used to cycle forward and the Preset down button cycles down through them. A Step can quickly switch to a non-adjacent preset or to edits of the home preset.

Will I have to program the unit before I use it live?
It’s good to find a couple of presets you like before performing in front of an audience but if you’re brave and have decent monitors, you don’t need to do any editing because we’ve built the presets so you can hit the stage running.

What are “Global” effects?
The top 3 buttons on the left side are what we call the Global effects. This means that they don’t change with the presets. For example, the Tone button makes your voice and thus the effects sound better regardless of what preset you load.

What is the Shortcut footswitch for?
This can be programmed to extend the capabilities of presets such as to set Tap Tempo for the delay, Harmony Hold, set Key and Scale etc. The presets have been pre-programmed with useful features but you can select from a list and change them if you want.

Are the harmony voices used for doubling?
No. You can have both Harmony and Doubling enabled at the same time if you like. Of course, if you really want mega-thick doubling, there are some factory presets where the 8 harmony voices are set to unison and mixed with the 4 doubling voices.

I play more than one instrument in a set. Can they both control harmony?
Yes, but not at the same time, of course. By setting the global instrument to MIDI keyboard, for example, you could switch to guitar by editing any presets for the guitar songs to recognize the guitar input.

Can I use my effect pedals on my guitar sound and perform with VoiceLive 2?
Yes. You connect your guitar directly to VoiceLive 2 and then run your effect pedals between the Guitar Thru connector and your amp. Your guitar sound will be unaffected in this chain.
