Hi, I’ve been trying to find a printable list of the presets that Voicelice Touch include, but it’s been difficult, I just can’t find it. Do you know where can I find this?
Hi Dave,
The preset list in in the manual on page 30-32. http://www.tc-helicon.com/products/voicelive-touch/support/
Hi I’m thinking of buying the voicelive touch but I want to know if I can edit some scales. I will control it via midi but still I want to use it for eastern music. Can I have custom scales? thanks in advance.
hi joey
i start up my VLT and the guitar output is on max (24 db) – i turn it down a bit and then turn it up to max again – the display shows 24 db again but the volumen has dropped significantly – do you expirience the same thing and is there something i can do to get rid of the problem ?
hi joey
i need a switch control for my VLT – is the switch 3 the right match or is there a better one ?
regards morten
Hiya Morten,
Yes, the Switch-3 is the right one to go for.
However, we are having stock issues with this one at the moment so it may be hard to find one available for a short time.
Best wishes,
Joey
… whats the difference between the g switch and the 3 switch then ?
Hiya Morten,
The G-Switch and the Switch-3 are basically the same pedal. You can use wither with your TC-Helicon product.
Best wishes,
Joey
thanx a lot
have a nice summer
HI I cannot get my voicetouch to work with my korg m50 I hooked it up via the midi cable and when I hit a key the green light lights up so there is something happening but I am getting no notes. I just got it today …also the volume on the mic seems to launch super high by itself and then go back down but not so through the headphones not sure if I may have got a defective unit or not …but I anticipated it for a month and waited to get it and now am somewhat lost ..I need your help .. thank you Derek
Hiya Derek,
Firstly, it might be worth making sure you have set up your MIDI channel correctly and that the keyboard isn’t sending any cc messages that may be affecting what you are trying to do.
If you chack the manual (linked below) there is a page on MIDI set up that may help you with this. The section starts from page 15. It is also possible that the volume changes you have mentioned are also caused by cc messages:
http://www.tc-helicon.com/download/manuals/voicelive-touch/VoiceLiveTouchCompleteManualENGv1-2.pdf
If this is still not working out for you then I would definitely suggest that you get in touch with TC-Helicon’s support team so they can troubleshoot this with you:

Hope this helps!

Hey Joey,
is there any chance, that Tc Helikon will add an option to fade loops soon?
I think it is super important and so do a lot of my colleagues, who I talked to about that!!! It would lift the Voicelive Touch to another level, if the headphone control could be optionally used as a loop fader.
Thanks!
Hiya Max,
Thanks for your feedback. I have forwarded this to the team at TC-Helicon for their consideration.

Max, take a look at this video from TC-Helicon
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wm5ZBvcj1_k&feature=channel_video_title
At about 4:24 he shows a setting which might do the trick. You may need to watch the whole video to see how he gets to that setting though.
On another note I’d just like to thank TC-Helicon for uploading these tutorial videos. I’ve been overwhelmed by the amount of hidden features in my VLT, and these videos and explanations are invaluable to me. Keep ‘em coming!
I just got the vlt and i want to know if there’s a way so i can control the harmonies of the vlt using the midi out of mi boss gt 10. How can i do that without having the guitar processed through the vlt? I’ve seen other musicians that use the harmonies controlled by MIDI but the instrument is not present! Thanks
Hiya Ed,
Unfortunately you won’t be able to control the harmonies via midi from your GT-10. This unit is not sending note data via midi – only program change information and other data. To control you harmonies via guitar midi you will need to use a guitar synth of some sort (GR-20 / GR-33 etc) as this takes note informationa and converts it into midi data.
Hope this makes sense.
Best wishes,
Joey
Hello,
I’m wondering how deep the bass goes if I plug my keyboard into the aux-in? I noticed the decibels (through looking at specs) seemed low. Can you get a good low end?
Also, I am running a boss gt-10b (with my voice) and I want to come stereo out of it to the voice touch. I’m wondering would i plug to the mic input? Would it recognize a stereo out to mic in? Or plug to aux?
Thanks!
Marcus
Hiya Marcus,
The frequency response is flat 10 Hz – 20Khz on the aux input, so whatever bass your keyboard produces will accurately be passed on to the output.
With regards to your other question. You can send a stereo input to the VoiceLive Touch via the aux input but this goes directly to the main output (i.e. you can’t use the effects). I would seriously suggest that you use the VoiceLive Touch in front and send this signal to the GT-10B if you still need to use it for vocals as this way you are taking advantage of the preamp and other tone controls available in the VoiceLive Touch.
Hope this helps!
Best wishes,
Joey
Thanks! But….
Now I’m a lil confused as to how I should do this. I want to be able to utilize the looping engine with the voicetouch, utilizing its own tone controls, pre-amps,etc, but also making some songs using my bass (voice) effects of the gt-10b -looping it into the VTL. Kinda like beat boxing, but I use the gt-10b because there are some bass synths that I like, so I plug in my mic and produce lower tones. Could I go XLR- out of the gt-10b and into the mic input of the VTL?
Or when you suggested the aux-input, did that mean that I could run it through there and loop it still hearing my effects from the gt-10b?
I truly appreciate your expertise Joey!!
Marcus
Hiya Marcus,
Basically, the best way to do it would be to use the AUX input – this way you can use the effects you like on the GT-10B and record them into the loop (it will just be without additional effects from VoiceLive Touch itself). Also, you could then use VoiceLive Touch’s Mic input for your main voice and other effects.
For further help and advice, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with TC-Helicon’s support team ( http://www.tc-helicon.com/support.asp ), they’ll be happy to help you
.

Joey
Awesome!! Thanks!!
Marcus
You’re very welcome Marcus
.
I have a voice live touch and right out of the box at home I was instantly able to do pretty stellar things. However, I took it to a gig and had major feedback issues and couldn’t really hear the effect in the PA.
Are there any internal settings I need to adjust? Like gain or something?
Thanks,
Nicos
Hiya Nicos,
In regards to your feedback issue it is definitely worth playing with EQ settings and the amount of compression that’s being used as this can play a part in causing feedback (especially when using transducer effects). Also, as with any vocal harmony/effects unit it’s important to make sure your voice is the most dominant signal going through your microphone (sing into your mic with your lips touching is best). Therefore, if you are performing super loud with guitar amps, foldback wedges, bass amps etc directly facing your mic… you’re probably going to run into trouble.
Here’s some steps you can take to minimise the trouble causing spill:
- Where possible, eliminate direct sound sources being fed in your exact direction (turn speakers and amps away from you and make sure no amps are sitting at shoulder level).
- Think about what kind of mic you are using. A cardioid/hypercardioid pick-up pattern is best for reducing spill. See here…
http://www.mediacollege.com/audio/micro … stics.html
- In-ear monitors may also be worth looking into if your foldback speaker’s volume is quite high.
Your choice of mic may be affecting your signal and causing feedback. It may be worth looking at the TC-Helicon MP-75 or MP-70 when they are shortly available as these mics are directly tailored towards working with TC-Helicon products and the spill rejection is outstanding.
If you’re still running into issues, you may want to contact TC-Helicon’s support team for further advice:

Hi Joey,
So if the VoiceLive Touch has 30 seconds stereo total for all loops does that mean that if you were to have 3 loops they could only be 10 seconds each before it ran out of memory or is that 30 seconds max for each loop?
Thanks,
Scott
Hiya Scott,
The 30 seconds maximum is in relation to the “total” looping time available regardless of the number of loops. This would mean for example – 3 x 10 second loops / 6 x 5 second loops etc.
Hope this makes sense.
Best wishes,
Joey
Joey,
I’ve tried to sort through all of the info presented via video, above comments, & user manual, but being a non-tech person, I’m still unsure of something. I perform solo (vocal along with an acoustic guitar). My repertoire includes “surf music” (e.g., Surfer Girl, etc.) I would love to add some harmony to these songs. If I understand this, will the VoiceLive Touch simply allow me to play the songs and as I make chord changes on the acoustic, it will adjust the harmony to each of my chord changes on the fly, without me having to pre-program anything? As a non-tech person, my preference would be to set the VL Touch once and have it add harmony as desired when I play these songs. I realize that I would only be using a small fraction of the features – maybe I could grow into the other functions at my own pace.
Thanks,
Ocean
Hiya Ocean,
Thanks for stopping by!
Yes – you are absolutely right. If you plug your guitar into VoiceLive Touch the harmonies will follow along with the chords as you play them in real time
.

Joey
Thrilled with the Voicelive Touch thus far. I am searching however for a listing of the various edit settings (delay styles, Mod styles, etc) Sure I could go one by one through the edit steps and listen to them but has anybody found a full list somewhere for quick reference?
Also, this is probably a noob question but why do the vocoder presets have no signal? Am I supposed to turn something ‘on’ in the setup menu? Any of my factory presets that start with ‘voco’ or with ‘Notes’ is silent. (around the 200 range in VL touch) I switched to mono in the setup menu thinking maybe they were panned but still nothing.
Hiya Kurt,
If you download the free complete manual ( http://www.tc-helicon.com/products/voicelive-touch/support/ ) – it’s the last one on the list… there are some details on the factory presets there along with extensive product details.
With regards to the hard-tune/no signal, I’d suggest getting in touch with TC-Helicon’s support team so they can troubleshoot your setup with you. You can find them here:-
http://www.tc-helicon.com/support.asp
Do let me know how you get on.
Best wishes,
Joey
Thanks Joey,
I do see the preset name list in the full manual but no specific details regarding the effects active on those presets. I did get a reply from TC support that they are still working on a complete styles list so we can create patches with a quick reference list as a guide. This would be really really really helpful with so many style options available. If you can’t tell, I hope they complete that soon. ; P
The ‘no signal issue’ is due to the requirement of having a guitar or midi device active on a few of the presets. ie vocoder and some of the ‘Notes’ presets.
Thanks
Heya Kurt,
I’m glad to hear you managed to sort your “no signal ” issue – thanks for letting me know!
Yes, I can confirm that a complete styles list is in the works and appreciate your enthusiasm.
Here’s wishing you much enjoyment with your VoiceLive Touch… Do drop by from time to time and let us know how you’re going!

Well, just can’t wait, so I took the plunge over-nighting a VoiceLive2 from WorldMusicSupply.com!! Should have it my 9am tom. (8/28)!!
Besides, being a singing guitarist, it would seem the VL2 is the way to go anyway and I have a Boss RC-50 for my looping needs!
Have fun!
Heya Rob,
Congratulations, can’t wait to hear how you get on! Do come back and share your journey with us
.

Joey
AND what about the screen? How robust is that?
Hi there. The VoiceLive 2 is robust and solid, and seems like it’ll cope with a fair amount of knocking around – how does the VoiceLive Touch compare? How would it withstand crashing to the ground when somebody knocks over the mic stand it’s attached to?
Heya Helen,
Good question!
It’s built to stand up to life on the stage and everything that goes along with that. We don’t recommend trying to abuse it, but it’s built to take it’s fair share of knocks and bumps.
Best wishes,
Joey
Hey all, I justsend my Harmony G-XT back for a deposit on a VLT. WHEN is the official rollout date?
GlobalMusicSupply.com says sometimes in September, but I’m Jonesing here! Anyone have a concrete date?

Can you process keyboard sound through the guitar input and output? Is the harmony generated using midi keyboard the same or an upgrade from the harmony m.
Hiya Rick,
There is the option to control the harmony via midi as well as by guitar with the VoiceLive Touch. I would use the aux input and/ or midi to process a keyboard for the sake of harmonies as the guitar input is mono and not designed for keyboard. Whilst the process of midi harmonisation is the same as Harmony-M, the added abilities of VoiceLive Touch in terms of effects and flexibility is a definite upgrade.
Thanks for your interest!
Best wishes,
Joey
Hi, when is the owner´s manual available for download?
can I switch presets via MIDI-Floorboard?
greets
Olli
Heya Olli,
Thanks for stopping by!
The Quick Start manual should be available mid September.
.
And, Yes… presets and Favorites are addressable via MIDI
Best wishes,
Joey
Hei !
Lets say , I use the guitar and the aux input together – wich one is then for harmonyfinding , or can I choose for myself ?
Heya Stefan,
VoiceLive Touch is extremely flexible in assignment of instrument(s) to control harmony. Guitar, Aux In, MIDI modes, and Scale can be assigned per preset or globally. The default Auto setting chooses between what is hooked up and then by hierarchy.
Best wishes,
Joey
Hi !
The new VoiceLive Touch seems like a dream come true for me. I’m a looping vocalist, so…
But after reading the FAQ and checking the videos, I still have a couple of questions.
1. When you say 60 seconds of mono looping, and that you can store loops into the favorites, is it 60 seconds for each loop? Or 60 seconds total?
2. Can we tweak the harmony settings as on the VoiceLive 2? Like manually making the harmony above a 4th and the harmony below a 3rd?
3. Can we use the slider as a volume slider for the loops for fading out?
Thank you !
François
Heya Francois,
Glad you like the look of our newest creature
. I’ll answer your questions in the order you asked them – they’re great questions!
1) 60 seconds is the total for all loops in mono with undo. If you’re brave, you could turn off undo and double the available memory.
2) Yes! Actually changing intervals is a little easier than on VL2.
3) There is an overall output level controlled by the slider. It’s intended for people whose mixer just can’t handle the output level of VoiceLive Touch but could be used to do a gradual, fadeout of whatever’s happening within VoiceLive Touch at that moment.
Best wishes,
Joey
I’ve always wanted electronics that would allow me to do harmonies that are independent of the lead vocal in a live performance. One of my favorites is “Yes it is” by the Beatles. If you listen to it carefully you will see what I mean.
Would the Voice Live Touch or the Voice Live 2 be capable of allowing me to do this song live while playing guitar?
If so, which would be the better choice?
Heya Mike,
Thanks for stopping by!
Yes, indeed… both the VoiceLive 2 and the VoiceLive Touch will most definitely be able to provide you with guitar triggered harmonies which should work great with that beatles song. As far as which product would be the better choice, that depends on how you would be looking to work, what you feel most comfortable with and is ultimately a very personal choice as they are both completely different creatures unto themselves.
The VoiceLive 2 remains the most comprehensive and editable – The best choice for the ultimate control over just about every parameter with a maximum of 8 seperate harmony voices at any one time. Whilst the VoiceLive Touch gives you the ability to loop.
I’d suggest visiting your local dealer and trying both of these units out to see what feels most suited to you.
Best wishes,
Joey
I’ve been using the Voicelive 1 and Harmony Control Guitar for a couple of years now and am now trying to decide between the Voicelive 2 and the Voicelive Touch.
Although I know the tracking of key, pitch, scale, etc … is much more accurate with the newer models, can you still select a key and scale manually with the Voicelive Touch?
Regards,
Colin
Heya Colin,
Yes, you can still manually set a key/scale for both the VoiceLive Touch and VoiceLive 2
.
It’s definitely worth trying out both units as they are different creatures. Do give me a shout if any other questions come to mind.
Best wishes,
Joey
At the risk of beating the dead horse lol
is there an actual release date?
I pre ordered one and the date was “august 28″ now they are saying “september 28″
I hate when this stuff happens.
On a positive note I own one of every Voice harmonizer TC has made and they are all
Excellent so I did not hesitate to jump onto this one ..it does seem like it will makemy show better and take it to the next level.. cant wait guys!
Hey Joey,
With regards to Demo videos will there be any material dedicated to showing the uses of the Switch 3 Footswitch with Voicelive Touch? Especially with regards to the looping and harmony on/off. I have read the assignment styles link but a demo would be really helpful to clarify exactly what each assignment style operates, that foot control is really important when playing the guitar as well! Thanks Joey.
Chris
Hiya Chris,
I can totally see how you would need this
. They have most likely queued this topic for video, but just in case I’ll let them know it’s being requested.
Best wishes,
Joey
I was just about to go and buy the Voice tone create pedal and a Boss rc 50 and then i saw voice live touch. I have not made up my mind yet…….. The Boss rc 50 can store layered loops in 3 different blocks live real time, this is handy for the chorus, bridge and so on. Can the voice live touch do this? Or is it a one trick pony like the Boss gt 10 looper which can only stack layer after layer on one block….. Im a guitar player singer so the switch three and how it can be used with voice live touch will be very important to my choice of equipment. i would like to build separate blocks from the floor switch if thats possible. i went into the link above but its still not clear to me . The video on the home page when the loop function is in use is very awkward looking. How much will the unit cost in Canada? When will it be here?
THANKS
SHAWN
Hiya Shawn,
For a guitar player, you’d want to use the footswitch for looping. There are assignment styles for the footswitches which can be found via the following link:
http://bit.ly/a89CMJ
1) In the top level looping mode, you get one loop to overdub as much as possible, plus the multiply, and the undo/redo feature.
2) In LOOPS mode (there will be demo material later in July), you can have up to 25 loops (dependant on available memory) that all have the same loop length as the first loop. This is very useful for using in different sections of songs because you want tempo to stay consistent. What’s also great, is switching between these always happens on the loop points so you never lose time.
As far as availability goes, we expect the units to start hitting shops mid August. I would suggest contacting your local TC-Helicon dealer as they should have pricing info for you.
Best wishes,
Joey
So I was about to buy the voicelive 2 when i saw this unit. amazing!! but is it like the new VL2 ?? or a different unit? and does it include every effect of the VL2 ? one more thing, I see a footswitch jck in the back so what does the footswitch looks like and what things can you do with it? or can you use a midi board and assign functions to pedals? I will buy this unit if I can control pretty much everything, wether it is with the use of hands or feet. Any pics of the floor footswitch? thanks – Guillermo
Hiya Guillermo,
The VoiceLive Touch is not a replacement for the VoiceLive 2. Both units have different features, however the VoiceLive 2 still remains the flagship product with the most editability. Check the following link for a comparison of the 2 units:
http://support.tc-helicon.com/entries/21056976-voicelive-2-voicelive-touch-comparison
Regarding the footswitch – this is the switch-3. You can find pictures and info about this product via the link below:
http://www.tc-helicon.com/switch-3.asp
Also, check the next link below for a detailed list of parameters that can be controlled on VoiceLive Touch by using this footswitch:
http://support.tc-helicon.com/entries/21056981-voicelive-touch-switch-3-control
As far as midi controllability goes, I would recommend that you wait for the user manual that will be issued shortly as there will be in depth detail concerning this within the pdf.
Best wishes,
Joey
Joey,
I am very excited about this product. One question I have had since the introduction of VL2 is how the harmony generators reacts in a high gain and lead situation. Let’s say we’re playing a Dream Theater passage were Petrucci is playing a lead guitar passage combined with chords. Is it realistic to expect to have an accurate vocal harmony with the guitar ‘all over the place’? I’m not clear if it’s a real time pull from the guitar note or taking the cumulation of notes and chords to figure out the harmony options. Also, most examples I have seen where guitar interact with the VL products are acoustic situations. Does high gain dimish the ability to detect key signature? Thanks! I am anxiously awaiting the summer arrival of this newest VL device.
-Kurt
Heya Kurt!
I’ll try and answer your questions in the order you asked them in
…
How does the harmony react in a high gain situation?:-
As with any effects unit creating vocal harmony, it’s important to make sure your voice is the dominant sound source being fed into your mic as that’s what it’s harmonising to. Naturally, if you have say guitar amps at shoulder height pointing directly at your mic at super high volume, chances are you’re probably going to run into some trouble. There are many steps you can take to avoid trouble in this regard which many people in similar situations have had great success with. Here’s a few tips to minimise issues…
- Consider the type of mic you use… Hypercardioid / cardioid is best because of its pickup pattern; http://www.mediacollege.com/audio/microphones/directional-characteristics.html
- Make sure you’re singing as close to your mic as possible (lips touching)
- Make use of the “Gate” features
- Consider in-ear monitors if your fold back is super loud
- Make sure PA speakers, guitar amps, bass amps etc aren’t pointed directly towards your mic
How does the harmony react when you’re triggering harmony via guitar and your guitarist is playing “John Petrucci” type lead lines with chords?:-
When triggering harmony via guitar, the units will intelligently build the harmony around the chords it’s being fed on the fly – not note for note in the exact voicings it’s being fed. This works great when your guitarist is playing the important notes of the chord (root, 3rd and 7th). It gets whether the chord is major or minor from the 3rd and whether it’s dominant character or major 7th from the 7th… so these are quite important. With this in mind, if he suddenly starts playing only single note lines or power chords missing the 3rd, you may run into issues. In these situatuations it may be helpful to set a key or a scale rather than having him trigger the harmony. Basically, a bit of common sense and experimenting should sort out what’s best in your particular situation. It’s also worth mentioning your other choices for triggering harmony:-
- Midi Notes Mode (triggered by keyboard/midi … with this mode, you can have the harmony follow the exact notes/voicings your keyboardist is playing).
- Aux input (You can feed a backing track through the Aux input and your harmonies will follow this).
Lastly, you’re never alone! TC-Helicon has a fantastic support team which is always ready to help ( http://www.tc-helicon.com/support.asp ) and 3,300 odd fans and users on their Facebook community who are always sharing tips and videos of how they’re using their TC-Helicon equiptment and generally helping each other out.
Best wishes,
Joey
Tap tempo?
Yes Joel,
VoiceLive Touch does indeed have the “tap tempo” feature.
Best wishes,
Joey
I am a student at MTSU, a renowned and popular university known for it’s Recording Industry program; will you be offering a student discount of any sort? Do you need any (more) testers? I would greatly appreciate any information or help, as I can’t afford a VoiceLive touch anytime in the foreseeable future.
Heya Arlow,
I’m afraid we don’t offer student discounts as TC-Helicon doesn’t sell direct to the public. It might be worth getting in contact with your local dealer and asking if they do anything along these lines. The other thing I’d suggest is becoming a fan on TC-Helicon’s Facebook as they do run competitions from time to time.
I do feel for you though… I was a student once myself and it can be tough can’t it! I’lll certainly note your interest in becoming a beta tester in the future if something comes up!
Best wishes,
Joey
Thanks again, Kevin.
I just sent an Email to my sales guy over at Sweetwater. Looks like it’s time to get this dry vocal situation taken care of!
Thanks for the feedback, Kevin. That’s some good information. So correct me if I’m wrong, but I have an idea. He uses a Fender Blues Deluxe Reissue with zero effects. The amp has an FX loop that he is not using at all. Can I simply take the output of the FX loop and input into the VL2 or the VL touch? Would we still need to run the “through” cable back into the amp, or is this not necessary since it is only being used for key recognition?
Thanks again for your response….can’t wait to try this out!
It all depends on that particular amp. Some FX loops will cut the signal through to the amp when you plug something into the FX Loop send (not got for you), and some cut the signal when you plug something into the FX Loop return (good for you!). So give it a try. Also, if they use a lot of effects and distortion before the preamp, or drive the signal a lot with the preamp this could cause issues in recognizing the chords.
well i think aswell that it s not so difficult find the right key for your harmony, if you have a guitarist playing for you then is a piece of cake, just use the first chords or may be the last one for the key and if it s major or minor its earable from the beginning, hope this help
i got voicelive2 and use it every where in unpluggeds songs, with my group,
and sending effects and harmony via ubs to cubase, for me is great.
thanks tc-helicon
Joey (or anyone),
One of the “turn offs” for me with the VL2 was that I’m not a trained musician and I don’t understand how “keys” work; also my guitar player doesn’t like the VL2 being in his chain as he’s ultra picky about his tone and felt that when the VL2 was on, it changed the tone. Sadly, I returned the VL2 because without knowing the key of the tune, singing into it just didn’t sound right.
With that being said, does this unit need to know what key I am singing in to produce the proper sound (including harmonies)?
Also, does it have phantom power? I didn’t see that it did; however, can I use the phantom power from my mixer and pass it through the VL Touch to my mic? (pardon my ignorance if that sounds ridiculous)
Next, is this unit simply “click here and I’m on” such as the reverb, and “click me while I’m lit” to turn it off. I’m hoping it’s easier than the VL 2…I’m not multi effects unit friendly (too many menu’s and adjustments).
Finally, does this unit have “steps” for songs like the VL2 or just what is mentioned above (clicking what you want) and then how many user presets can be accessed while on stage (assuming we aren’t tweaking anything in between sets).
Thanks for your assistance…..I’m hoping this is the unit I’m looking for! I’m getting tired of “dry” vocals!
What you mention about key is still true. For harmonies to sound musically correct, they need some information about the music. The easiest ways to get this information are in real-time from a guitar input, MIDI input, or Aux input. If your guitar player doesn’t want to plug his guitar through the unit, and doesn’t want to use his own splitter box – ask them if they have a FX send or output on their amp that they could plug into the unit. But if you don’t use one of those sources you need to manually set a key and scale so the harmonies sound correct. It’s no different than real singers – you can’t sing a harmony part for music you don’t know unless you can hear the music or someone tells you the key or chords.
As for the other questions….
Phantom power – yes
Click on, click off for effects – yes
Steps – no steps, but there are up to 25 favorites – these work just how a car stereo works for memorizing you favorite stations.
I say – sit your guitarist down and let him know how much further your sound can go if he can let his sound go to VoiceLive 2 or VoiceLive Touch – you’ll love it.
Post vids of the unit being used …….Please
Hiya Shawn,
We should have some more videos online for the VoiceLive Touch in July. Stay tuned!
Best wishes,
Joey
What is the release date?
Hiya Alan,
It’s technically released now. As far as when it’s hitting shops, you’re best off checking in with your local dealer.
Best wishes,
Joey
Having been a Live Looper for most of this past decade, I’m really quite interested in the new VLOOP performance looper. I do have a couple of questions, though, and was wondering if anybody might have some inside information.
First, bravo on including Undo & Multiply. Those are two very common functions that most new loopers overlook entirely, and it shows that you’ve done your homework by including those. However, there’s another really important function — Feedback — that you always find on serious looping hardware (and don’t find on lower-grade Phrase Samplers like those from Roland or Digitech). Feedback allows you to have older loops gradually fade away in the background as you add new overdubs on top. It’s absolutely essential for doing Ambient Looping or music with any sort of space around it, as it allows the sound to evolve and change on its own.
The “Phrase Sampler” looper architecture (as found on Boss’ RC series, for instance) doesn’t implement Feedback, and is fundamentally flawed for many uses. You can only build up layer after layer after layer, until you find yourself stuck in a mass of noise with no way to get out gracefully. So Feedback is a necessary function for any real looping device.
Obviously, my question is: does VLOOP implement Feedback, or any similar function?
Additionally (and not so important overall), does it include any of the other standard Looping tricks — like Reverse, or Double/Half Speed — that you find on many of the other competitor’s boxes. These are not necessary, of course, but they sure are a heckuva-lot-of fun.
You’ll also be happy to know that it seems quite a few Live Loopers are now looking at this box, and not just vocalists either. Personally, I also use my Voiceworks and Voicetone Create units to effect and generate harmonies on my guitar, synth, and winds (works especially well here, FWIW). So if VLOOP is up to snuff, you’re liable to see a lot of musicians from many different fields interested in it.
Thanks a lot and good luck!!!

Hiya Dustbunnies,
Thanks for your fantastic questions!
Feedback or fade in looping… yes VLOOP has a default value for a certain amount of fading of the loop when overdubbing. This value can be changed in setup in realtime. We agree it’s important, especially since we are capable of doing so much more than rhythm with our voices. Basically, voices in general are really suited towards ambient looping.
We don’t include reverse, double/half speed. We think those things are cool, but we’ve focused on some more live performance based features that you will find in what we call LOOPS and SHOTS modes. There will be more detail on those modes in video form come early July.
We’ve made things easier by not include the kitchen sink of looping features like drum machines, hundreds of loop store locations, etc. We have focused on your performing needs rather than creating in advance.
Hope this helps!
Best wishes,
Joey
Right on Martin,
I’ll never give up my Voice Live 2..well, maybe for a Voice Live 3 = hahaha. But…I mix rock with electronica and this would add tons to my arsenal…live looping – way kewl…all depends on the format of music I suppose. Either way, I’m a techy and live for these moments when manufacturers introduce new vocal robots for me to make friends with. I like the idea of having the touch pad at arms length…still, I’d probably run two wireless mics…1 for the VL2 and 1 for the Touch.
Namaste,
Brian
Cool product, but i prefer the “VoiceLive 2″. I don’t like the idea of “touch” in live performances. This is a cool product but not for a rock singer. I prefer the classic pedal, using the feet. The cool thing in “VoiceLive Touch”: The loops, but not something really important just for a singer.
COOL PRODUCT BUT… VOICELIVE 2.. STILL BEING THE KING…
OMG! Incredible…well if you’re allowing beta testing…please, please, please let me try?! This instrument was made for me, us, everyone! I had designed a hand held mic for this contest…mainly for the idea of having everything a slight reach away…you guys are all about creating freedom. Can’t wait to touch all over one!!!
Namaste,
Brian
