Play Acoustic: Whitney Myer Performs “Wake and Watch”

We count ourselves lucky to have Whitney Myer on as an occasional demonstrator. She’s not only a killer vocalist and an incarnated TC-Helicon aficionado – she’s also an awesome songwriter, like this song shows.

Whitney Myer wrote the song “Wake and Watch” for her 2013 EP "Articles of Luminous Nature". At NAMM 2015 we recorded a live version of the song where Myer utilizes the Play Acoustic. Whereas the original has a kind of mellow, dark character to it, this live version is bright and (seemingly) uncomplicated.

If you want to compare the two versions, you can find the EP version HERE. Oh, and here’s the lyrics if you want to study them:

Lyrics:

I haven't seen you for days, but I remember your skin

The way your mouth tastes

You know where I stand

So don't get caught in the silly games they're playing

I can't give you an answer, that will promise my love forever

But I can tell you that I can't breathe

Darling if you leave

Chorus

I will wake and watch the sunrise every morning

And I will send out my soul to yours

Cause no one knows how I love you

I said I love you, I love you

People everywhere are full of doubt

Ready to tell us how we should live

Well at the end of my days I'm gonna answer to myself

To the voice inside my heart

So how dare they try and pull us apart

Because

Chorus

I will wake and watch the sunrise every morning

And I will send out my soul to your

Cause no one knows how I love you

I said I love you, I love you

No matter what they do

I said I love, love, I love you

mmmmm.....I loved you
