Remember the hit song “Hey Ya!”? If you weren’t on a six month space walk back in 2004, we take it that you do. The song was written by André 3000 for his 2003 album “The Love Below” (a part of the hip hop duo OutKast's double album “Speakerboxxx/The Love Below”).
Long story short: They had the world dancing hard to this song. Perhaps you also shook it like a Polaroid pictureback in 2004? Must say there’s something oddly familiar about you. And we never forget a… a… face, you see. *ahem*
Never mind. The point is that most people would describe “Hey Ya!” as a typical feel-good song. The French TC-Helicon user Rachel Claudio, however, has decided that it could work just as well as a mellow piece of electronica. Guess what? She’s right!
Equiped with Ableton Live, an Akai APC 40 (Ableton Performance Controller) and a VoiceLive Play GTX she remolds the song from the ground up.
Describing exactly how she pulls it off would be quite challenging – luckily, we don’t have to, since Rachel has promised to release a tutorial-esque video soon. All we can say is “H*** Yeah!”
