TC-Helicon recently had the opportunity to catch up with legendary Guns and Roses and Velvet Revolver drummer Matt Sorum at his studio in LA. The challenge with this however has largely been how artists could re-create these unique and unnatural vocal sounds easily on the live stage. Well, TC-Helicon has the products to make this a reality without the artist having to depend on computer based effects. It’s no surprise that more and more artists like Far East Movement are choosing TC-Helicon when performing live.

Shlomo currently holds the impressive and enviable title of World Loopstation Champion, which he recently achieved in Los Angeles during the 2011 Winter Namm show earlier this year.

Here’s a recent video he’s done using his TC-Helicon VoiceTone Synth and VoiceLive 2 to create an exciting mix of totally improvised vocals in the beatbox style which is sure to inspire!

Recently, Clara has begun performing regularly using the TC-Helicon VoiceLive Touch… “The VoiceLive Touch is a great looping device which comes in handy because I loop regularly throughout my set layering different instruments and vocals. Also, I love the different effects that are available because it really gives my songs character while I perform them. The VoiceLive Touch has really allowed me to think outside the box. There are so many possibilities available with it! Also, it’s taught me to be even more rehearsed and skilled at multi-tasking since I’m constantly stepping on the foot switch and playing with the touch pad.

“TC-Helicon has played an important role in this amplified, “mics in hand” methodology. TVS lessons are live and we do a lot of coaching on my students music, so when we migrate from the technique to the coaching of songs, I always give my students the “secret sauce” and hand over the wireless transmitter so they can enjoy the processing. Without TC-Helicon’s VoiceTone pedals, I would be left with old springy reverb and that just isn’t as cool.”

Coming from a musical family (her Grandfather a famous Jewish liturgical singer and her father an accomplished jazz pianist), Valerie Vigoda’s career as a songwriter and performer came in to focus at the age of 26. Then in 1997 she quit her job to tour with Cyndi Lauper followed by Joe Jackson. Since then she has been on a non-stop musical adventure balancing her band (GrooveLily), her songwriting (with husband Brendan) and her wildly growing career writing musicals with her husband also.

We managed to speak to Valerie following her recent win in TC-Helicon’s Love Songs Competition…
